A day in the life – Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright! Provide operational support, troubleshooting and modifications to Grid Control application that supports SCE’s management of the Electrical Grid. Perform software development and maintenance support for the Grid Control application as they relate to the operation and control of the Electrical Grid. Engage in activities involving clients, IT teams, and vendors in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our systems (including after-hours tier 2 support) and critical project efforts. Develop and maintain project documents such as functional specifications, software / system specifications, high- and low-level designs. Qualifications The essentials Two (2) or more years of experience in Information Technology or Electric Utility engineering. Two (2) or more years of experience in developing and maintaining complex programs using C++, C#, or .NET technologies. Experience in maintaining real time systems with database (Oracle, SQL) Experience and technical knowledge of SCADA and/or control systems. Experience troubleshooting and resolving system technical issues. The preferred Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science/technology, or related field. Experience and solid understanding of Linux OS tools, including filesystem manipulation, subsystem configuration (i.e., NTP, NAS), and performance monitoring. Strong understanding of Cybersecurity standards and trust zones to implement a defense in depth application security. Good understanding of infrastructure and networking capabilities to design resilient systems. You should know This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at a different SCE location. This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week. Relocation does not apply to this position.
