Job Description Position Overview: New Line Structures is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join the Project Controls team. In this role, the employee will be placed in a rigorous learning program where they will be taught scheduling, cost engineering and general aspects of construction management. Once this employee completes this program, they will be assigned to a project where they will serve as that projects cost engineer and scheduler. This position will provide the skills necessary to continue their career in project management, with strong technical skills in construction financials and scheduling. Successful graduates of this program have gone on to be strong project managers within the company. Responsibilities: · Assist with construction financials and cost control, using the project and financial management systems of record. · Review construction progress and update project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 based on feedback from the project team. · Manage the budget tool, budget balancing, change events, Owner change orders, invoice compliance reporting, and generating the Owner invoice. · Generate monthly cash flow reports using P6 and Excel · Assist with the jobsite quality management program “ punch lists, inspections, observations, and other site-specific efforts. · Generate ad-hoc reports utilizing the project and financial management systems of record, as requested by the project team and executives. · Actively contribute to the companys Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ideate solutions to optimize workflows. · Train other employees on how to use company systems. Address technical concerns and ensure that SOPs are being followed. · Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, mathematics, or related field, from an accredited institution. · No prior work or construction experience is required. The candidate must present a willingness and openness to learn a wide array of cost engineering topics. · Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools · Ability to effectively communicate, and to train others on company systems. · Analytical with a keen attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Below are qualifications that are not required for the position but would be nice to have: · Masters degree in engineering, construction management, mathematics, or related field, from an accredited institution. · Prior experience using a project and financial management system of record (e.g., Procore, CMIC, etc.) · Knowledge or familiarity with the following software: Primavera P6, Procore, Microsoft PowerBI, Visual Basic (VBA), SQL, BIM/Navisworks, Bluebeam · Knowledge of lean planning and process optimization (ex. Six Sigma) is a plus. Additional Information Location: The candidate must have reliable transportation (including public transportation) to offices and jobsites throughout New York City, Westchester County and Northern New Jersey. Remote work is not eligible for this position.
