Mavensoft Technologies is looking for a Project Engineer – EV Construction 

Job Title: Project Engineer – EV Construction Duration: 12 Months (extensible through 12/2024) Location: Portland, OR Working Schedule: 8 – 5 PST Hybrid; Onsite 1 day per week (Tuesday) Payrate: $75/Hr. Note: Occasional travel to customer sites is required; travel to customer/project sites ~1 day a week on average within client territory & can be expensed per PGE’s mileage reimbursement policy Skills: Construction, Transportation Electrification, Design/Construction, Electric Distribution System, EV Charging Infrastructure, Project Management, NFPA 70 (NEC), Excellent Communication. Preferred Tools: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Autodesk Platform, EV charging for fleets background. Qualifications: 5+ years’ experience in utility distribution system, infrastructure design, estimating, construction, or operations and maintenance. Experience in electric vehicle charging infrastructure design or installation (light-duty through heavy-duty) and charging equipment (Level 2 and DC Fast Charging) Project management experience Experience driving and charging electric vehicles. Knowledge of Client’s Electric Service Requirements/design standards and/or National Electric Code (NEC) Interest in, or passion for, Transportation Electrification Comfortable in ambiguity and areas without defined processes. Ability to speak confidently and build trust with customers. Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals (volts, amps, kilowatts, kilowatt-hours) Excellent internal and customer-facing written and oral communication skills. Intermediate knowledge of company QA/QC process and procedures. Working knowledge of construction feasibility. Job Description Technical support for business & fleet EV charging, mobility hubs, and standardization of make-ready infrastructure. Examples include: Engage with business and fleet customers, providing expert advice, recommendations, and excellent customer experience throughout. Conduct fleet assessments for customers enrolling in fleet programs, including an electric vehicle feasibility assessment, charging needs analysis, and cost of ownership analysis. Travel to customer sites and perform site assessments, evaluating optimal layout of electric vehicle charging infrastructure based on nearby utility distribution infrastructure, parking area layout, and customer requirements. Create preliminary site designs and cost estimates outlining proposed charging infrastructure layout, construction costs, and incentives! Research and assess new TE technologies, products, and services for technical feasibility, performance, user experience, and utility services and integration. Job Duties Engineering Standards: Maintains currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and independently applies professional knowledge of engineering processes and standards to assignments/projects. Applies knowledge of construction practices and materials, design tools, techniques, regulatory requirements and applicable state and federal codes. Engineering Production: Prepares a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables; leads smaller project teams. Develops engineering solutions that meet technical requirements, all applicable codes, regulatory requirements and follow sound engineering practice. Completes a range of overhead or underground material and equipment specifications. Updates existing standards and work practices. Revises and implements underground material and equipment specifications, participates in standards review meetings and obtains input and technical data from various technical stakeholders. Project Coordination: Assigns tasks and coordinates with other internal/external team members on assigned projects; shares information and provides professional guidance in executing project tasks. Provides engineering expertise to projects with complex design, construction, operation, maintenance or testing elements in support of engineering and construction needs; contributes to capital budget and job estimates. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or other engineering discipline from ABET accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency. Certification Requirements Certifications, Licenses and Training Professional Engineering Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam strongly preferred.
