The position is specifically responsible for providing BR&T Laboratories with operational oversight. This includes hosting bi-monthly Lab Operation meetings with Lab Managers and Focals to communicate information, requirements, and best practices relevant to laboratories. Developing, monitoring and reporting operational metrics for laboratories on the Lab Dashboard. Working one-on-one with Lab Managers and Focals to resolve issues and answer questions relating to operating a laboratory. Maintaining BPI-5257 and work with BR&T Quality for laboratory audits and resolving non-conformances. Managing Commercial Item at Price (CITAP) renewals for Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) services to laboratories in Puget Sound. Maintaining laboratory information in the Lab Tool and the Boeing Enterprise Laboratory Database (BELD), including new Lab setup and Lab closures. Overseeing and managing the Foreign Object Debris (FOD) process for BR&T Laboratories. Position Responsibilities: Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements Works with customers and management to obtain approval Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules Leads project execution to complete the work statement Identifies performance metrics Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under minimal direction This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry 5+ years of experience in engineering and/or engineering project management Experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Possess a wide and diverse technical background and network Critical thinker, effective and dynamic communicator Experience with leading cross-functional teams Experience with budget and management of program critical path Emotionally intelligent, motivated, organized, flexible, and resilient under pressure Perform and lead with a significant amount of autonomy and exercise good judgment in determining suitable solutions to international customer requests Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
