Nissan is looking for a Sr Cost Engineer – Software and Electronics

Nissan is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill an opening for a Senior Cost Engineer, Software & Electronics, at our Farmington Hills, MI location. This individual will be working in Software Defined Vehicle domain from off board software to ECU based software projects, such as Connected Car Service, Telematics, Infotainment, ADAS etc. and be responsible for collecting & analyzing data to set target prices, challenge prices, and negotiate prices. Responsibilities Define, collect, analyze, and interpret data from Technical Specification to architecture diagrams from system level to module level for software projects Validate, develop competitive cost analysis including tooling as applicable for variety of Software projects Define and defend the cost gaps based on credible data and facts Provide expertise to Engineering and Purchasing in cost estimation and engineering. Work closely with Engineering to develop optimized design solutions ensuring best in class cost and function. Support Engineering and Purchasing in evaluating design proposals and supplier quotations and assist in negotiations. Support project/module level costing analysis on competitor vehicles for benchmarking purposes. Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree required. Engineering degree preferred. 7-10 years of experience in software & electronics domains for budgeting, costing, pricing and estimation, automotive industry experience preferred Able to interpret software project requirements/specifications Knowledge of software architecture and design, cost structure either for off-board (IT Based) software or embedded (ECU based) software projects Proven capability conducting cost analysis / estimation and/or quoting for software projects Able to quickly analyze, compare and interpret detailed and sometimes limited information and make sound and accurate conclusions Ability to defend his/her conclusions with detailed evidence and convincing negotiation Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications Project management skills, lead and collaborate with key stake holders for project execution Desired: Experience in competency such as Software development, software project technical lead, software technical sales, software project management etc Experience in Automotive software development/service Experience of embedded software development Knowledge of ASPICE, AUTOSAR, Automotive Communication Protocols etc Nissan is committed to a drug-free workplace.
