This Systems Engineer position will require you to apply electrical, electronics, and physics philosophies in executing various tasks related to the Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH S) engineering discipline. The scope includes technical engineering related to radiation effects on missiles, with a focus on strategic systems. This engineering discipline ensures that missile design, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments. These environments may also include natural space radiation. This position is expected to be the responsible NH S Subject Matter Expert on various programs within LM Space facilities across the country. The breadth of responsibilities expected from this position includes: Technical planning and documentation Specification requirements derivation Modeling and analysis Test planning and implementation Weekly Activity Reports Participation in the Survivability Working Group Requirements verification/validation to support overall system hardness against radiation threats Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, thus US Citizenship is required Basic Qualifications Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education Experience in one or more of the following: a) Experience in Man-made Nuclear, Natural Space Radiation environments AND/OR Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH S) engineering discipline/work b) Electrical engineering simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, etc.) AND/OR with software tools for performing electrical engineering and mathematical analyses (e.g., MATLAB, etc.) c) Test laboratory environments and associated test disciplines and test equipment (e.g., data systems, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and/or signal generators) Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, thus US Citizenship is minimum Desired skills Radiation software tools (e.g., NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Crememc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Ap8/Ap8, and Ap9/Ae9) Radiation test facilities [e.g., test labs in University of California at Davis, Texas A M, Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)] Electronic, electrical, electromechanical and electro-optical (EEEE) components Piece-part radiation testing and radiation effects on piece-parts performance and reliability Electromagnetic environment and philosophies Ability to lead multi-functional teams, develop meaningful relationships with team members, and develop consensus among peers Enthusiastic learner and willingness to be an apprentice to senior experienced professionals in the NH S discipline Support anomaly resolution teams Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint Organized and able to effectively multi-task to accomplish this exhilarating job Final Secret clearance Virtual no Zip 80125 EEO Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
